Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to remove and store vehicle body components
   • Job requirements are determined from workplace instructions
   • Workplace procedures and recommended procedures and specifications are sourced and interpreted from original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or authorised agency
   • Hazards associated with the work are identified and risks are managed
   • Tools and equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), are selected and checked for serviceability
   • Work is planned to minimise waste according to workplace procedures
2. Remove, tag and store components
   • Vehicle components are removed according to specifications of OEM or authorised agency
   • Components are tagged and stored according to workplace procedures and without causing damage to system or components
   • Additional parts required to complete repair are identified, listed and reported
3. Clean components prior to repair and storage
   • Vehicle components are cleaned using recommended cleaning methods and materials according to safety and environmental requirements
   • Vehicle components are inspected for damage and repaired according to workplace procedures
4. Complete work processes
   • Final inspection is made to ensure work meets workplace expectations and components are presented ready for use
   • Work area is cleaned, waste and non-recyclable materials are disposed of, and recyclable material is collected and stored
   • Tools and equipment are checked, reported if faulty, and stored according to workplace procedures
   • Workplace documentation is processed according to workplace procedures
